Changing the world doesn’t have to be hard work. In fact, Ladles of Love has made it easier than ever to make a difference with our amazing Sandwich Drive initiative.
In just a couple of minutes – and for only a few rand – you can help feed a number of vulnerable children and homeless people.
Sourcing and distributing food donations is one thing. Ensuring that food is prepared and ready to eat is a whole other ball game. Through the Sandwich Drive we can get ready-to-eat food much faster and more effectively to those who are hungry, while giving South Africans ways to do volunteer work from home.
All we ask is for people to take a loaf of bread (or as many as you’d like) and prepare simple peanut butter and/or jam sandwiches at home. Alternatively, if you don’t want to donate sandwiches, you can simply boil some eggs. It’s quick, easy, and good to eat.
We’ve made it as easy as possible to donate sandwiches. You simply sign up, make sandwiches or boil eggs at home according to our guidelines, and drop off your contribution at your nearest food donation centre. Our drivers will collect and we do the rest, ensuring your donations get to those that need it in a hurry!
For best results, we recommend specific guidelines to keep the process as simple as possible for you, and to ensure that the sandwiches are easy to store and distribute. Please follow these guidelines carefully when making sandwiches.

Currently, we only have food donation centres in the Western Cape. If you live anywhere else in South Africa or further afield and would like to contribute, please consider donating money.
