We love March as the new year is finally in full swing!  We’re excited as March marks the beginning of Ladles of Love’s events calendar with our annual Charity Golf Day and Auction Dinner.  Our four-balls were sold out in a flash and golfers will gather on Friday 28th March at the Metropolitan Golf Club to ‘Play forward food with love to preschool children in need’.

The big value of the event lies in the Auction Prize Giving Dinner and here we would love your help – maybe you have access to items for our prize pool or brands to build with experiences on the Met golf course. We are appealing for auction items that could yield results. Maybe you or a friend in your network has a local or international holiday home to gift, or spare time-share, air miles and objects d’art to donate. We would love to hear from you on email: events@ladlesoflove.org.za.

Next year we hope to expand our Golf Day to Gauteng as the requests are rolling in and Candice Etberg who heads up the region is rearing to go. Let us know if you’d like to get involved!

Talking events and Gauteng – today Candice shares some news around the power of events:  “Well, it certainly has been a long and loving walk at Ladles of Love Gauteng, and because tenacity is an absolute, we are eventually reaping the benefits.

Team-builds are growing and with that, gardens of love have too! Thanks to our campaigns and events, we were able to hand out edible garden kits, where not only the kids delight in helping to plant, but with veggies now fully grown, our principals are delighted too.  This is a game-changer as the crops of delicious vegetables are on hand to nourish and nurture their vulnerable children every day.

Yesterday, I chatted to Lesego Mosetle who runs Rutegang After School Programmes in Munsieville, Krugersdorp. She expressed how grateful and appreciative she is to receive food from Ladles of Love, as many of these kids are not fortunate enough to eat regular or proper meals at home, so when they line up outside the centre, they are so excited to get their healthy meal and tuck in!
She says it’s extremely heart-warming to see the children walk away happy with these big smiles on their faces.

To give you context, our Gauteng Nourish Our Children nutrition programme now supports 14 preschools with two nutritious meals for 983 children daily, and the volunteer run Dignity Kitchen cooks up delicious weekly meals for an additional 170 children.

We are growing our footprint and our volunteers play a huge part in walking the walk of love with us.  We receive amazing donations of educational items that are handed out to our creches regularly, which makes such a difference in the teachers lives too. Happy children – happy teachers!

Ladles of Love Jozi is walking the walk and talking the talk. We strive every day to make the world a better place and provide nutrition and education to our little future leaders – but it is YOU, our incredible donors, who walk with us and help make it happen.

Together we all make a difference. This is ubuntu and the walk of life and LOVE!”

With gratitude and appreciation,
Danny and the team at Ladles of Love ❤️
