This week is episode two in our Heroes of Hope series and today we celebrate Venessa Mhlungu, the dedicated principal of Kidz Kingdom Edu-Care in Kuruman. We are honoured to share her story with you.
Venessa grew up surrounded by family, who taught her some of life’s most important values: love, togetherness, hard work, humility and caring for others. These early lessons shaped the woman she is today and influenced her desire to create a safe, loving and nurturing environment for the children in her preschool.
“Becoming a mother deepened my love and concern for children and helped me understand the importance of providing them with safety, guidance and a strong foundation. With the support of my husband and family, I have continued pursuing the vision God placed in my heart for Kidz Kingdom Edu-Care.”
A Commitment to Learning and Growth
Venessa believes that learning has the power to transform lives. Her studies, training opportunities and experiences as an ECD leader have strengthened her ability to serve children with greater confidence.“I remain a learner because I want the quality of care and education we offer to keep improving.”
A Hero of Hope in Action
For Venessa, being named a Hero of Hope is a reminder that meaningful change can start small and still create a lasting impact. “I am most proud of being a mother and of building Kidz Kingdom Edu-Care into a place that our community can depend on. I am proud that we have created work for local practitioners and a safe learning environment for children. Watching children grow in confidence, learn new skills and become ready for formal schooling is one of my greatest achievements.”
Venessa’s story reminds us that when communities are supported, equipped and believed in, incredible things can grow.
