Dear Ladles Supporter
This week we bring you exciting news. The kind of news that makes us incredibly proud. News that we believe will bring you joy, in the knowledge that your support is making a massive and meaningful difference to thousands more little children.
We’ve promised to expand our Nourish Our Children programme, and here to bring you a first-hand account is Martin Zibula, our National Monitoring and Evaluation Manager.
“They arrived seeking support. They left as partners.
For 80 preschool principals and cooks from Cape Town’s most overlooked and gang-affected communities, walking through the doors of Ladles of Love was deeply emotional. Many lead centres that other organisations struggle to reach. They have stretched limited fees, used personal income and relied on occasional donations to ensure that children are safe and fed. Yet, they were not welcomed as beneficiaries waiting with outstretched hands. They were received with warmth, dignity and respect as valued partners in a shared mission to raise healthier children.
Your donation makes this partnership possible. It places nutritious meals on a child’s plate, practical knowledge in a cook’s hands and renewed hope in an ECD principal’s heart.
In my position as National Monitoring and Evaluation Manager and as our CEO Danny often says, “We’re not in the business of collecting donations, we’re in the business of selling hope.” Every meal served, every principal empowered and every child supported is proof of what becomes possible when people choose to invest in a better future. Together, we’re building a movement that ensures no child’s potential is limited by hunger or circumstance.”
Hope is one of the most powerful forces for change. When people choose to walk alongside us, they become part of something bigger than themselves, helping to create opportunities for children, strengthen communities and unlock potential where it matters most. Thank you for being part of this journey and for helping us build a future filled with possibility.
By sharing stories from professionals in our organisation, like Martin, we hope to give them a voice while also giving you, our valued supporter, the inside stories and insight you deserve. You are always welcome to share your input or feedback with us. We appreciate your opinion and remain open to ideas, always.
With our gratitude and appreciation,
Danny and the Ladles of Love team.
