Dear Ladles Supporter
For years, Ladles of Love showed up where hunger was loudest. We fed whoever was in front of us because that was what was needed. But over time, we realised that good intentions alone were not enough. If we wanted to create lasting change, we had to move beyond simply delivering food.
We had to focus on delivering nutrition brilliantly and continuously improving how we do it…
We are delighted to share our latest Programme Impact Highlights Report, showcasing the impact your support has helped make possible during the first half of 2026. What you will read in these pages is more than a report. It is the story of programmes growing into the best versions of themselves, each one connected to the next.
Below is only a few highlights from our report and feature messages from our team leads driving our programmes ♥️
Yolanda leads our Nourish Our Children Programme. She says:
“We move people when they come into the programme from a place of hopelessness to a place of hope and believing again, trusting again and dreaming again.”
We’re awakening entire communities to what’s possible. When a centre operator realises their children can recover, that healthy food isn’t expensive but a choice, everything changes.
Micaela leads Feed The Soil and wants this programme to be known as the face of food waste collection and diversion in the city. She highlights:
“By strengthening local food systems we’re building long-term resilience in how communities access and sustain nourishment.”
We’re offering kits to collect food waste, diverting it from landfill and turning it into compost that feeds our farmers.
Anas leads Dignity Kitchen and he sees the people the city has learned to overlook.
He shares:
“When I walked in here, I felt that I can give back to the community… And every day when I stand up and leave work, I leave with a smile.”
The pot is bigger. The reach is wider… But the act is the same — one person, treated with love, dignity and respect.
Zelda leads Love Activists and she’s learned something:
“The majority of donations, like L’Oréal, Estée Lauder, came through volunteers at the DK. It could have been someone in the CSI department who volunteered and loved the experience that brought the donation… We all have to play a part as that’s Ubuntu. We are who we are because of each other. We need to work together to make the world better.”
What excites us most is that we are no longer simply delivering meals.
We are building an integrated ecosystem focused on nutrition, dignity, sustainability and long-term impact. From monitoring child growth and development to supporting local farmers and diverting food waste from landfill, we are creating lasting change that reaches far beyond the plate.
