As we head into the weekend, we wish you a wonderful Friday and extend our heartfelt thanks to each of you who responded to our flood relief call — whether through donations, volunteering, or simply reaching out to help.
We are incredibly grateful for your support as it makes the world of difference knowing when the going gets tough, we are walking the journey together. This generosity enabled us to support our beneficiaries who were most impacted by the storm.
Cape Town is buzzing with runners and supporters flying in for the Cape Town Marathon, all experiencing our city in its glory. It is hard to believe that behind this veneer lie challenges in our communities beyond comprehension.
We believe events like this will provide much-needed funds and job opportunities to people living in our poorest communities, especially during winter when life becomes more difficult for families facing unemployment and struggling to provide food and warmth for their loved ones.
Our preschool principals, teachers and carers are still bailing out water, fixing roofs, scraping together funds to replace precious resources that became airborne in the storm.
Thankfully, through the generosity of our donors, we can consistently provide them with nutritious food allowing them to direct the funds they receive to rebuilding, resourcing and salaries. Our principal beneficiaries can speak firsthand about how game changing this support is and how it positively impacts and uplifts the entire neighbourhood.
As we wrap up the week, we reflect on all that we have been able to achieve with the support of you, our supporters, and feel overwhelmed with gratitude. We can only do what we do because of you.
