We cannot remain silent as this devastating storm continues to batter the Western Cape. Across our communities, families are facing fear, disruption and uncertainty. Homes are leaking, schools are closed, and parents are scrambling to keep their children safe while holding everything else together.

For many of us, this storm is deeply unsettling. For others, it is catastrophic. In informal settlements, homes are fragile in the face of relentless rain and fierce winds. Structures collapse, belongings are lost, and entire families are left standing in knee-deep cold water with nowhere to go.

Images sent to us from our team on the ground in khayelitsha today.

In these moments, our Nourish Our Children preschools become more than places of learning. They become shelters of safety and warmth. They become spaces where frightened children find comfort, routine and a hot, nourishing meal. Behind the scenes, remarkable principals and teachers continue to show up with courage and compassion, cooking not only for the children in their care but often for entire communities.

This is ubuntu in action. This is resilience. And this is where Ladles of Love steps in.

Our Dignity Kitchen is already seeing a surge in need as more families are displaced and unable to cook for themselves. We are preparing meals, distributing food and doing everything we can to support our preschool network and the communities that rely on them.

But we cannot do it alone.

We urgently need your support to keep food flowing to our preschools and to ensure that every child and every family affected by this storm has access to warm, nutritious meals during this critical time.

Your donation will go directly towards purchasing food, supporting our kitchens and enabling us to respond where the need is greatest.

Please give what you can today. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference.

Together, we can be the calm in the storm.

Donate now and stand with us as we show up with love, dignity and respect when it matters most.
