This World Homeless Day, Ladles of Love invites you to make a real difference in Cape Town and Johannesburg. Together, we’ll provide hundreds of destitute and displaced people with healthy hot meals, lovingly prepared and served by volunteers like you.

With over 3,500 meals served weekly, every act of service touches lives with love, dignity, and respect. In the true spirit of ubuntu, whether you’re one of our guests receiving a meal or a volunteer helping to serve it, the experience is humbling, heartwarming, and deeply meaningful.

As a World Homeless Day volunteer, you’ll witness social barriers melt away — connecting with people as humans, beyond gender, colour, or religion. It’s a powerful reminder of our shared humanity. The sense of camaraderie among local and international volunteers makes this day not only impactful but uplifting — you’ll feel good, doing good, for good.

This World Homeless Day, we come together as love activists, restoring dignity and hope for a better tomorrow — one meal, one smile, one act of kindness at a time.

Our journey began humbly — with a single bowl of soup served to a homeless man during a cold Cape Town winter in 2014. That simple act of kindness by founder Danny Diliberto, a local restaurateur, grew into Ladles of Love, an organisation dedicated to feeding hearts and souls with love and respect.
